MyTeacher – Privacy Policy
Introduction
My Teacher (“the App”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use the App.
1. Information Collected by the Developer
The developer of My Teacher does not collect or store your name, email address, location, contacts, photos, or other personal information.
The App uses the OpenAI API to process words and sentences entered by the user and to generate language-learning assistance.
2. Data Sent to the OpenAI API
When you submit a word or sentence to My Teacher, the content you enter is sent to the OpenAI API in order to generate a response.
This information is used to provide features such as grammar correction, translation, explanations, pronunciation information, alternative expressions, and example sentences.
You should not enter sensitive or confidential information such as passwords, financial information, addresses, phone numbers, or other information that you do not wish to send to OpenAI.
Data sent to the OpenAI API is subject to OpenAI's applicable terms, policies, and data-handling practices.
3. OpenAI API Key
My Teacher requires users to provide their own OpenAI API key.
The API key you enter is stored locally on your device using Apple's Keychain and is used only to communicate with the OpenAI API.
The developer of My Teacher does not receive, collect, or store your OpenAI API key.
Use of the OpenAI API may result in charges to your OpenAI account according to OpenAI's pricing and terms.
4. Language Settings
Your selected native language and learning languages are stored locally on your device and are used to provide the App's language-learning features.
These settings are not collected or stored by the developer.
5. Sharing of Information with Third Parties
The developer does not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes.
However, words and sentences that you submit to the AI Teacher are transmitted to OpenAI for the purpose of generating AI responses.
6. Advertising and Tracking
My Teacher does not display advertising and does not use advertising trackers or track users for advertising purposes.
7. Data Storage
The developer does not operate a server that stores the words or sentences you submit to the AI Teacher or the responses generated for you.
Information transmitted to the OpenAI API may be processed or retained by OpenAI in accordance with its applicable policies and API data-handling practices.
8. Changes to This Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated when the App's functionality changes or when applicable services, policies, or legal requirements change.
Any changes will be reflected by updating this Privacy Policy.
